This fantastic overnight tour allows you to see more of Luxors fantastic sights at a great price.
Day 1 Itinerary:
We'll start the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Hughada and travel to Luxor, known as the world's largest open-air museum for a good reason.
On arrival to Luxor together with your Egypt Excursions highly trained, knowledgable and friendly tour guide we'll explore Karnak - "the greatest example of workmanship in history". The Karnak Temple complex - known simply as Karnak, comprises a vast mix of temples, chapels and other buildings dating back as far as the reign of Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom. The area surrounding Karnak was the ancient Egyptian's main place of worship of the eighteenth dynasty.
Our guided tour will take you around the impressive and vast open-air museum of Karnak, the second largest ancient religious site in the world and the second most visited historical site in Egypt after the Great Pyramids of Cairo.
The size, diversity and complexity of the ancient buildings of Karnak are due to the length of time Karnak was developed over, with approximately 30 pharaohs contributing to it over their respective reigns of Egypt, this is unheard of from any other temples in Egypt.
Walking around Karnak you'll see a staggering amount of carvings all over the stone built temples, representing the gods and figures worshipped from the very ancient to the different gods worshipped in the later stages of ancient Egyptian civilisation. Almost all our customers comment on how intricately detailed the carvings on Karnak temple are, bearing in mind the enormous size of the complex, and describe a feeling of awe similar to that of seeing the great Pyramids up close. Questions of "How did they achieve this!?" are regularly asked, especially when you consider the age of the temple.
One of the more notable things you'll see as you make your way around Karnak is the Hypostle Hall, an enormous hall area of 5,000m2 with 134 massive 10 meter tall columns arranged in 16 rows. The architraves on top of these columns weigh 70 tons, so the general theory is that they were built using massive levers requiring a great level of balance and time to get the massive stones to such a great height. There are many alternate theories to explain the building of Karnak, if you're interested then feel free to ask our guide.
Check in to a Comfortable Hotel
Once we've completed our tour of Karnak we'll transfer to a comfortable and hotel in Luxor for a good nights rest.
Day 2 Itinerary:
On your second day you'll visit the City of the Dead in the amazing Valley of the Kings as-well as the Colossi of Memnon, the only remains of the temple of Amenophis III, the magnificence of the grandeur of architecture and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only Pharaonic women who reined ancient Egypt and then we will ride a Felucca on the river Nile to witness the amazing sunset view around Banana Island before returning to Hurghada.
Valley of the Kings
The Pyramids of Giza were built for the Pharaohs of Egypt's Old Kingdom, but the Pharaohs of the New Kingdom wanted to be closer to the source of their dynastic roots in the south and so built splendid crypts in the barren dessert hills to the west of Luxor, in the Valley of the Kings.
The ancient Egyptians built massive public monuments to their pharaohs, but they also built hidden underground mausoleums that no one was ever meant to see, it's these tombs now excavated in the Valley of the Kings that we'll be seeing on our tour. The Valley of the Kings became a royal burial ground for the Pharaohs such as Tutankhamen and Ramses II, as well as other royal figures in society such as queens, high priests and other elites of the 18th,19th and 20th dynasties.
These ancient tombs tell of elaborate preparations for the next world in which pharaohs would need their bodies as they join the gods and so would require mummification to keep it in good order. Within these well hidden tombs was also vast amounts of treasure, food, linen, flowers, beer, wine and everything else a kings would need in the next world even including beloved companions from this life.
It was widely believed that the Valley of the Kings had given up all it's secrets and that all the tombs had been found throughout the thousands of years since their construction, however Howard Carter's find of king Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922 proves that there may still be tombs waiting to be found.
Ride a Felucca down the Nile at Sunset
Whilst in Luxor we couldn't let you miss riding down the lifeblood of Egypt - the Nile on an authentic Felucca as the sun sets on this ancient City.
You'll moore up at the beautiful and interesting "Banana Island" where you'll get a short tour of the Island, some delicious Egyptian tea and some of the sweetest bananas you'll ever eat!.
Return to your Hurghada Hotel
After seeing Luxor's most impressive sights on a this 2 day tour of Luxor from Hurghada we'll travel back to your hotel in Hurghada by air conditioned coach.

Luxor 2 Day Tour from Hurghada
Egypt is a very beautiful country and its antiquity is well preserved. Marwa was our guide during the trip to Luxor. She is very friendly and warm and she told us very interesting things about the history of the monuments. The guide tour was very pleasant and educational. We can recommend it to anyone to have Marwa as a guide. On the tour you don't have to worrie about anything, everything is arranged on advance! Very pleasant trip we won't forget very easily!

Luxor 2 Day Tour from Hurghada
Excellent value. Enjoyed a 2 day trip to luxor. Stayed overnight in a pleasant hotel overlooking the Nile. We were a couple and had 2 guides one each day. Susanne and Mahmoud were both equally informative and friendly. Travelled from hurghada in a car. Journey around 4 hours. It was exceptionally hot so confess to looking for shade. Sites were amazing and anyone in Egypt should try and take in the history. We did add the ballon trip to see the sun rise over luxor and the Nile. Well worth the early rise. Also felucca trip was excellent. My only fault was the itinerary. When booking one expects a general plan but the guides had no real idea what excursions had been paid for. We had to tell them. As it happens we moved couple trips around which suited us but it should have been better organised. Saying that brilliant trip.

Luxor 2 Day Tour from Hurghada
We also booked the Luxor 2 day tour from Hurghada with Egypt Excursions as last time we came to Egypt we saw Cairo and felt we had missed out a little by not seeing the tombs and temples of Luxor. We really caught the bug for Egyptian history after doing the Cairo tour so had since read up a lot on Egyptian history including the Sphinx and the valley of the Kings, which made it so much more exciting to finally visit them after only previously seeing them in books and on TV. Our guide was really friendly as usual and a temple of knowledge when it came to he's countries history, he explained how he was a trained Egyptologist and alot of the other tour operators only used "part-time guides who knew nothing" which made us laugh.
Luxor is an amazing city and theres so much to see, even after 2 days you feel like you want to see more but it was also nice to get back to Hurghada and lounge around the pool for the day when we returned as the 2 days on the tour had been very busy. A few people have asked since returning from Egypt what our favourite was out of the Cairo and Luxor tours, and there's only one answer i can honestly give - DO BOTH! Although it might not be possible on one holiday they're both so amazing and rich in history you simply can't miss either!
Prices were very good and service better - would book again.

Luxor 2 Day Tour from Hurghada
As with many of the other reviews on here, we booked a number of tours with Egypt Excursions after using there sister company SharmExcursions 2 years ago for our tours in Sharm el Sheikh.
We were a little sceptical at first whether this company would be as good, based on the fact that Mohamed himself proved to be what really made SharmExcursions so special for us, however it turned out Mohammed is heavily involved in this business too and actually arranged the tours for us anyway!
Needless to say all the tours went of without a hitch and we really enjoyed all of our tours.
The Luxor tour from Hurghada was the first tour we booked and the best in all honesty, it was informative, fun and somehow still relaxing (we were on holiday after all).
Our tour guide was brilliant (Mehmet i think?) and very funny and kind, he made sure we were always comfortable and had everything my wife and I needed - including haggling for us at times!
The benefit of this tour is that you get 2 days to explore Luxor which is great because there's simply so much to see and in retrospect there's nothing I feel could have been missed out.
Book this tour - you will not regret!
A big hello to Mohamed from Daryl and Susan!
