Our first stop will be Dandara, and the amazing Dendera Temple Complex, one of the best preserved temples in Egypt and a great example of what the ancient Egyptian's could achieve. Covering over 40,000sq meters, Dendera has been a site for chapels and shrines since the very beginning of Ancient Egyptian history. The current temple dates back to the Middle Kingdom, with subsequent additions made during the time of the Romans.

Inside this fantastically-preserved temple you'll find great examples of Ptolemaic Egyptian art, including depictions of Cleopatra and her son, and Julius Ceasar's son, Ptolemy XV Philopator Philometor Caesar.
Within the temple you'll also find a series of mabasta tombs in a necropolis dating back from the early dynastic period of the Old Kingdom. Your highly-trained Egyptologist tour guide will explain important and interesting parts of this beautiful tomb to you throughout the tour.
Lunch Onboard
After discovering Dendera we'll get back onto the boat for a delicious lunch as you gently travel back to Luxor center, from where you'll be taken back to your hotel.
