Since the early century, Philae temple was flooded by the Nile for six months of every year, so in 1960 an incredible restoration program was undertaken to move the entire temple complex stone-by-stone to it's new location on higher ground.

This magical experience will recreate life in Ancient Egypt through an amzing display of sounds and lights, as well as telling the story of the gods to whom Philae temple is dedicated to. The Sound Light Show at Philae Temple was a lovely way to learn the meaning of the hieroglyphics. A dramatic show and absolutely beautiful under the starlight. Get there by boat which is also a treat.
